One of a series of mileposts in this renowned scenic area. The massive increase in tourism around Loch Lomond and Loch Katrine in the later 19th century made these roads popular tourist routes and brought forth the necessity for easily recognisable markers for travellers. Likely to have been made by the Grangemouth Iron Works, who were responsible for other similar mileposts in the area.
The milepost is painted white with raised detailing picked out in black.
