Description

18th century. Single storey cottage row, altered in mid-19th century to pair of cottages and reconstructed in 20th century as one dwelling. Random rubble; squared and snecked for alterations. Rendered and lined margins.

North (Entrance) Elevation: originally symmetrical six-bay with doorways flanked by windows. Right doorway blocked. Left doorway with stugged, droved ashlar surround and chamfered arrises; consoled slab porch. Window to remaining bays.

South (Garden) Elevation: asymmetrical and many altered openings.

West Gable: windows at ground and attic level, with smaller ground floor window to right.

East Gable: blank unusual stone incorporated in gable head. 12-pane glazing pattern to sash and case windows; steep gable pitch, pantiles. End gable and mutual gable stacks; no skews.

Statement of Interest

Located at focal position on junction of Tyninghame Village. Forms part of a wider group of listed buildings.
