Side entrance to upper floors was previously in the westermost bay (it is now a window opening) with a banded, keyblocked surround to upper light. Ground floor cornice on carved consoles. First, second and third floor windows are vertically linked in recesses with keyblocked segmental arches at third floor level (the 2nd bay from the east is consoled). Predominantly small-paned windows in metal frames throughout. Main entablature with a dentilled cornice and parapet.
The interior is partly altered. Marble-lined entrance hall with stained glass window to rear at light well (as described in the previous listed building record).
The building was built as the Legal and General Assurance Office. Laird and Napier won the competition and constructed the building between 1927 and 1929 (Dictionary of Scottish Architects).
Entrance hall now partitioned (as described in the previous listed building record).
Statutory address and listed building record revised in 2024. Previously listed as '129 ST VINCENT STREET'.
