History

Early C19; former house, now shop.

Exterior

Three storey building; pebbledashed, stone plinth. Slate roof with flanking stacks and overhanging eaves. Three window front to The Bulwark. Small pane hornless sash windows. Twelve-pane sashes (4 over 8) to second floor; 16-pane sashes to first floor. On ground floor, central bay with moulded wooden doorcase with open pediment, fluted pilasters, panelled reveals, fanlight and 6-panelled door; flanked by tripartite sash windows.

Interior

Ground floor rooms with round-headed niches. Contemporary staircase with straight balusters and turned newels.

Reasons for Listing

Early C19 building retaining its character on important site in historic centre of Brecon. Group value.
