The cottage is situated to the NE of the hotel and is probably contemporary with it.
Small house. Stone walls; brick dressings. Steep slate gabled roof with gable end to George Street; one storey and attic; fancy bargeboard Sash windows without glazing bars; one above; two below, one to each side of central blocked doorway. Roof slopes to both sides have flat-roofed dormer; tall brick chimney to R.
The interior has been renovated but stopped and chamfered ceiling beams and original roof trusses remain.
