History

The company was founded on this site in 1805, from which time this building probably dates; it is said to have established an early mail order business.

Exterior

Small 2-storey flannel factory constructed in English garden wall bond brick, whitewashed to symmetrical 6-window front. Slate roof with overhanging eaves and rendered chimney stack to left. 3-light small pane casement windows with cambered voussoirs to ground floor including central boarded double door entrance. Large raised lettering over. Red brick similar rear.

Interior

Interior retains panelled doors and many original furnishings including brass pattern press.
