Built following demolition of C17 house on site in 1914 as branch of National Provincial Bank.
Early C20 bank building in 'Wrenaissance' style; two storeys plus attic; red brick with bathstone ground floor and dressings. Elevation facing street has open pediment; round window with swags. First floor has banded shallow pilasters; two windows, segmental pediments above architraves with stepped keystones and aprons; twelve-pane horned sashes. Ground floor faced with banded bathstone; two square-headed windows with square lower pane, and in rectangular upper pane circle flanked by lozenges. Convex corner bay has shallow dome with iron finial. Parapet and dentil cornice. First floor window similar to main elevation (cartouche with 'NP' monogram above). Broad banded pilaster to R. Entrance doorway has surround with shell hood supported on volutes and fluted Ionic columns; double panelled doors with rectangular overlight.
To rear, two-storey blocks in red brick and white glazed brick.
