Dated 1857; originally located in centre of courtyard at the Old Guildhall. Relocated in present position 1985. Statue designed by I Evan Thomas, sculptor; cast by Robinson & Cottam, Statue Foundry, Pimlico.
Stepped granite plinth and tall pedestal with moulded base and cornice. Full-height, bronze, standing figure in top-coat carrying papers in right hand, draped heraldic pedestal to rear.
