History

Later C19 estate house, marked on 1889 OS map.

Exterior

House, Preseli stone with slate eaves roof and red brick end stacks. L-plan, two storeys. Front range has fishscale slates, 3-2-light casements of 8 panes to first floor over ground floor 3 windows and door. Ground floor windows are similar, the 2 outer ones aligned, the inner window and door may have been originally a pair of doors. All have red brick heads. Windowless left end wall with overhanging bargeboards.
Lower rear wing faces over lane with window at ground level only, a casement with C20 brick voussoirs. Above is a C20 board with painted Latin inscription: "Portentum plangens tua si caret asse crumena/Perge viam numinis resonat celer intus Amice/Si tamen esurie luges mazilla calebit/Ostia nam miseris Frater, sunt/semper aperta". External stone stairs on gable end up to a ledged loft door with window to left.
