History

Early to mid C19 house, now offices. Building shown on this site on Kensington Estate map of 1808. There was a hotel on this site in 1830s. An old photograph of c1932 shows ground floor with window to left, centre door and small shop-window right.

Exterior

House with shopfront, rusticated stucco cladding, with slate roof and brick stack to left end. Three-storey, 2-window range, upper floors with late glass sash windows and ground floor with late C20 double plate glass shop front with fascia and cornice on pilasters, and central glazed door. Lines stucco voussoirs and keystones over upper windows. Plain roughcast left gable end with small casement window to left at second floor level.
Since 1978 one chimney has been removed and windows replaced.

Included as a prominent 3-storey late Georgian style building on the square.
