History

Browne-Willis described well in early C18 as having 'Stone-roof, and inclos'd within a wall, with Benches to sit upon round the Well.' Dr G Harries of Cryg-glas called the well roofless ca1760 and that it was repaired by Mrs Williams of Treleddin in early C19.

Exterior

Holy spring traditionally said to have sprung up at birth of Saint David and a place of pilgrimage since medieval times. Small rectangular stone basin in low rubble, tunnel-vaulted well-house, open at west end. Within basin, step under water at west end and ledge at east end. Interior whitewashed. Purple sandstone front step with incised run-off channel to secondary small rectangular basin, monolithic sandstone with run-off channel to front. Cobbled small paved step each side.
