Large High Victorian Gothic pair of houses. Three storeys and basement with paired full height bays to centre and entrance bays to outer ends. Snecked rubble with freestone dressings and weathered stringcourses, some brick to gables and chimney stacks (centre and ends). Slate roofs; twin gables rise over splayed bays which also have traceried gablets, bracket eaves. Four windows wide, paired and single pointed lights with stone shafts, cusping, carved capitals etc, sash windows. Pointed entrance archways up parapetted stairs, moulded arches on foliage corbels, recessed Gothic screens with side lights to doors, elaborate plasterwork to porches.
Part of a group of well-preserved High Victorian middle-class houses in city centre.
