History

Lofted cartshed, earlier to mid C19, perhaps contemporary with the lofted stable on N side of the yard.

Exterior

Lofted cartshed, rubble stone with red brick. Slate close-eaved roof with coped gables. Two tall front flattened-arched entries with red brick surrounds and dividing pier. Surrounds are rebated for doors. Right arch has inserted iron beam across carrying lowered floor, with red-brick infill above. Small square loft light under eaves to centre. On left end is a single flight of stone steps up to loft door, the door in stone porch with collapsed slate roof. Porch side wall is of neatly squared stone and gable is coped. Adjoining loft steps to left is a low outbuilding, possibly an outside kitchen, with corrugated iron roof and brick left end stack. One door to right of centre with brick cambered head.

Reasons for Listing

Included as a unusually carefully detailed C19 lofted cartshed, of group value with the other buildings at Bryn Ffynnon.
