Originally farm buildings, but converted to 2 dwellings in mid C19 after they became part of the Glanusk Estate, created by Joseph Bailey of Glanusk Park in the 1840s largely out of enclosed common land. The cottages differ from other estate cottages as they were converted from farm buildings. No 3 was badly damaged by fire late C20.
Not inspected at time of survey (August 1997).
Good example of Victorian estate cottages, part of an impressive group of Estate buildings at Pont-y-bryn-hurt.
