One of two entrance gateways to the service and garden areas of Nantclwyd Hall, added by Clough Williams-Ellis for Sir Vivyan Naylor-Leyland in c1965.
A gateway consisting of limestone piers capped by moulded copings, on each of which stands a stylised bird. The birds confront each other in an aggressive stance. Panelled timber gates with a downswept top rail, the stiles rising a little above the top rail.
An element in the scheme of Nantclwyd park improvements by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis; also listed for group value with the other listed items of the Hall and park.
