History

This pillar box is the V R standard cylindrical design which was current from 1887-1901.

Exterior

Cast iron cylindrical pillar box with V R monogram which is also marked in relief lettering Handyside and Co. Derby and London.

Reasons for Listing

Included for its special interest as an increasingly rare late Victorian pillar box.
