Early C19 and presumably contemporary with Nos. 6-10 (even) (qv) . It is marked on the 1835 map, but not on the 1800 one. It is shown with the original timber 3-light windows and a pantiled roof in a photograph of 1860.
The house is entered down a shared passage through the street door beside that of No.6 and within the curtilege of that house.
Very slight cross beams are visible internally.
Included for its special architectural interest as a pair of early C19 houses which, despite alteration, retain definite character, with strong group value in Hereford Road.
