GV II*

Farmhouse, c1700 , rubble stone, rough rendered with stone tiled
roofs, end wall and ridge stacks to main range with coped north
gable. South end wall stack to lower range to south. South west
rear wing has massive outside stack. Main house: 2 storey and
attic, 2 hipped dormers with ball finials. Rusticated ashlar
quoins and ashlar coved eaves cornice. 3 window range. First
floor paired outer sash windows and single central sash. 18-pane
sashes, thick glazing bars to left side pair. Raised moulded
stone surrounds. Ground floor 3-light chamfered stone-mullion
window with hoodmould each side of fine stone doorcase with staff
moulding and fielded panels around, 2 each side, 3 above. Stone
hood on carved brackets. 6-panel door. 2-light window with
hoodmould to north end wall, first floor. Rear gable with 2-light
stair light with hoodmould. Lean-to range adjoining to left. At
south end of main front a one-and-a-half storey range with dormer
gable to front. Early C18 raised moulded surrounds to sash
windows, one window range to front, two to south end. Thick
glazing bar upper sashes, C19 sashes below. Rear wing has, to
south side, door in raised staff-moulded surround, one window range
of sashes in surrounds with moulded jambs. 15-pane thick glazing
bar sash in lower window, dripstone over and C19 sash above.
Interior said to have fine panelled room at south end and early C18
staircase.
