8/306 Dairyhouse Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Late C17, refaced in brick and north bay added late C18,
heightened C19. English bond brick, concrete tiled roof, gable end
brick stacks. 2-storey, 3-window front at right angles to road.
C20 door in gabled porch to right of centre, 2-light casement to
right, 2-light and 3-light casement to left. First floor has three
C19 2-light casements. Right return has C20 casements and stack.
Left return has Flemish bond brick lean-to extension. Rear has
1930s and 1980s extensions to right, to left is 2-light casement,
dormer to attic.
Interior has deeply chamfered beam and exposed joists with step and
runout stops, open fireplace with chamfered beam with curved
corners, stairs formerly on west side of fireplace. C18 room has
chamfered beam with ogee stops. Formerly timber-framed. Similar
details to Chalkpit Farmhouse (q.v.). (Unpublished records of RCHM
