Terrace of 10 cottages. c1840-60. Cream Flemish-bond brick,
mostly now rendered, continuous crested zig-zag tile roof
swept to the eaves, red brick stacks to gable ends and party
walls. Double-depth plans with some single-storey rear
extensions. 2 storeys; 2-window range with doors to the left,
except Nos 1 and 17 to the ends which are symmetrical 3-window
range. Flat gauged brick arches to most windows; continuous
ceramic bands, palmette to the eaves and a foliate scroll
between floors. Semicircular recesses above C20 doors contain
various decorations. No.1 to the left retains horned 2/2-pane
sash windows to the first floor and ground-floor left and a
similar tripartite window to the right. C20 porch and door.
The 3-window range end houses are shallower and set-back at
the rear, No.1 has three 2/2-pane sash windows to the
first-floor rear. INTERIORS not inspected. Form a significant
group with the docks (qv).
