Opened in 1813, the proprietary chapel of St John represents a rare surviving example of the features of a Georgian evangelical preaching house. Notable features include an unusual and impressive triple-decker wooden birch pulpit with staircase and elegant curved mahogany handrail. The chapel also has an unusual and impressive triple-decker wooden pulpit and chapel organ, currently awaiting restoration, built by George Pike England - one of the top organ builders of the late Georgian era. Open every day 10am to 4 pm.
