Large Mansion. Late C18/early C19, incorporating an earlier north wing. All
the building now rendered. Mainly two storeys with part three storey. Towers,
turrets and complex roof forms with crenellated parapets. Slate roof with lead
hips and ridges. Colonnaded verandah on the ground floor with a stone balu-
strade above. Ornate porch of triple linked columns of French Renaissance
Tuscan order on plinths. Similar columns on the verandah probably dating from
the alterations of 1883. The north wing also of this date was built as a
picture gallery with small pane sash windows. The other windows are mainly four
light casements with mullions and transomes. Porch to left of centre on the
east elevation. Massive chimney stacks with crenellations and machicolations.
