House, now divided and part shop. Mid C16 core behind refronting of c,1650, C20
extensions to rear. Timber framed, refronted in red and blue chequer work brick
to left and right of centre, brown Flemish bond brick to centre. Hipped plain
tiled roof. E shaped facade with projecting bays to ends and centre. Two storeys
with main, multiple stack to centre right, front stack to left in re-entrant angle
to left wing. Plinth, plat bands over ground floor and to eaves and to edges of
dutch gables over projecting bays. Diamond-pane,leaded casement fenestration, wood
framed, with one first floor window, 3-light, to each wing and one 2-light central
window under shouldered head to centre. One first floor window to either side of
centre under eaves in recessed bays. Similar arrangement on the ground floor,
although windows either side of centre are under double shouldered heads. Ground
floor window to right hand wing now converted into half glazed door in flanking
lights. Chamfered-arch entrance to ground floor centre under gable/pediment on
plat band. 6 panelled door behind with frame of old house exposed to left. Left
hand return front: Brick cladding to right, timber frame of thin scantling exposed
to left, brick infilled. 2 gabled wings and one pentice roof extension to rear.
Interior: Some framing visible. Large cambered tie beam to L hand first floor
room.
