This Martello tower sits at the south end of Felixstowe Ferry golf course,the towers were built between 1809 and 1812 as a defence against possible invasion by Napoleon, though this never arose,the walls are up to 15 feet thick to withstand incoming cannonballs. Many were used in WW2 and after the war converted for use as Coastguard stations or used as storage or houses.
