Dam and sluices. Late C18. Coursed squared stone and ashlar. Dam wall approx 3 metres thick and 20 metres wide, has a central cutwater flanked by single elliptical arched sluices, closed on the water side by vertical wooden sluice gates and operating gear. On either side, flanking walls. To east, a stepped spillway. The eastern section of this structure lies within the parish of Mansfield, Mansfield District, Nottinghamshire.
