A Grade II Listed Building in Froxfield, Wiltshire

Hugditch in the early 60s

My father (who took this photo) and my mother moved from London to rent the house for £2 a week on a 3 year lease from the 3rd Feb 1963. The house had no electricity or gas, but did have an aga. Light was by hurricane lamps and candles. It was a very atmospheric, somewhat dark, but very homely house. There was a big barn with an old airplane folded up inside like a moth. There was a small outbuilding behind the house and a field and forest in front and below it.
