Farmhouse and attached farmbuildings, possibly built as a model farm range.
c.1830-1840, with some late C19 alterations. Flemish bond brick with dentil
cornice. Slate shallow-hipped roof; brick left end and ridge stacks. L-plan,
with former barn and stable in wing on left to rear. 2 storeys; 4 bays. Front is
almost wholly symmetrical. Giant blind arcading with string course at springing
level throughout. Third bay has 9-panelled door and fanlight, moulded panelled
reveals, and painted wood doorcase of Tuscan pilasters and open pediment. Wood
cross windows with glazing bars, probably late C19, have brick cambered arches.
First and fourth bays have ground-floor windows in shallow projections with
stone copings. Right return side is irregular. Interior not inspected. Large
blind basket arch between house and buildings has plank door and 2-light
casements to left and above within it. Narrow blind windows to left and right
have brick flat arches. casement inserted into left window. Basket arch barn
doorway, partly blocked and with doors and window inserted C20. Various small
openings inserted. Rear to yard has 2 stable doors and blocked barn doorway.
Barn has kingpost roof.
