Two houses, now three, in row. c1700, altered mid C19. Coursed
rubble stone, tiled roof, brick stacks. Two storey and attic, 8-
windowed; casements. Two C19 four-panelled doors in bolection-
moulded stone cases with pediments to Nos 66 and 67, entrance to No
68 in round-arched opening to right of school (q.v.), ground floor
has six 2-light cyma-mullioned casements and two 2-light casements
to No 67. First floor has eight 2-light cyma-mullioned casements.
Attic has five hipped dormers with 2-light casements. Rear has two
rear wings; that to right is early C18 stair turret with 2-light
mullioned casements, widened in C19 with sashes, left wing has two
2-light mullioned casements to both floors, lean-to between wings
has planked door and 4-panelled door, No 68 has planked door and 2-
light mullioned casements, C19 wing with casements.
Interior of No 67 has doors with two fielded panels, fireplace
surround with rosettes and cornice, good Victorian cast-iron grate
with tiles, room to right of door has door with six fielded panels
and panelled reveals, panelling in two heights with raised panels
and cyma-moulded ceiling cornice, corner fireplace. Rear closed
string stairs rise to attics with turned balusters and square
moulded newels. Interiors of No 66 and 68 not accessible at time
of survey (June 1985), but No 67 said to be similar. Reputed to
have been the home of a former Viscount Weymouth.
