Uploader's Comments

Early C19th brick Lock Keeper's Cottage sited due north of Hazelhurst junction, where the Caldon canal splits into two. The main Caldon canal runs directly to the south of the cottage while the Leek branch of the Caldon canal runs some way to the south. The group of buildings to the right of the cottage are a modern extension and are not included in the listing. Photo taken from beside the lock pond between the two canal branches looking north-east 02/11/14.
