Oval inscribed tablet and above -Breviore volvitur Orbe- (Short is our turn on earth). The shield above has Arms for Tryon quartered with a bulls head proper between conjoined wings. These are canting (punning) Arms for James Tryon of Bullwick. Samuel Tryon of Colleyweston, his younger brother, d1711, arranged for the monument. Also represented by a chevron engrailed between three escalops is their mother Judith, sister of Sir Abraham Cullen of East Sheen in Surrey, although the Arms seem to derive from the Garneys family of Suffolk. The Tryon crest is a bears head erased. (Photo Aug 2008).
