Church of St Mary the Virgin

A Grade II* Listed Building in Little Houghton, West Northamptonshire

Little Houghton Village Church

Uploader's Comments

Around 1100 AD, a church, probably wooden, stood on the site of the present church of St. Mary the Virgin. No trace of the earlier church has survived.
Of the present-day church, the south door arch and the font are believed to date from around 1200 AD.
Three medieval misericord seats in the chancel have survived.
The tower contains a set of five bells with the oldest dating from 1625, along with an extremely rare bell-frame installed in 1637.
