PONTELAND KIRKLEY HALL NZ 17 NW 12/320 South Lodge 28.4.69 and gatepiers

GV II

Lodge and gatepiers. Early C19, 2nd storey added early C20. Ashlar with Lakeland slate roof. 2 storeys. Canted 3-bay front. Central, pedimented Tuscan porch, formerly open, now with C20 glazing. Above, a moulded panel carved with the Ogle arms. 9-pane sash windows, with panelled aprons on ground floor. Cornice and corniced parapet. Hipped roof with corniced ridge stacks.

Corniced stone gatepiers. Bust of bull on right pier and deer on the left.
