Lodge, gateway and flanking walls. 1894. Ashlar. Baroque
Revival Style. Ashlar with slate roof. Plinth, first floor and
sill bands, moulded coped parapet with obelisk finials,
shouldered shaped coped gables, ball finials. Windows are
mullioned and transomed leaded casements. 2 large panelled
stacks, one rear and one side wall. 2 storeys, 3 bays, L-plan.
Main south front has projecting wing to left with 2 storey flat
roofed bay window with 4 lights on each floor. To right, in
return angle, single storey porch with, to left, 2 round headed
windows and to right, corner pier and 2 round headed openings.
East gable has canted 5-light bay window and above, stepped head
6-light window with hood mould. Outside, huge pair of rusticated
gate piers with recessed central round headed gateways with
projecting keystones. Diced flanking columns with swags and
above, cartouches with Arms. Above again, panelled bases with
scroll brackets, inscribed 'ANNO DOMINI MDCCCXCIV', carrying
heraldic lions. Main central wrought iron gates with matching
overthrow with Arms; similar flanking wicket gates. Beyond,
curved dwarf flanking walls with intermediate buttresses carrying
scroll-top wrought iron railing. Beyond again, main flanking
walls with intermediate buttresses, ramped coping, and bracketted
ball finials. 4 square corner piers with round headed single
niches in recessed panels. Above, cornices and bracketted ball
finials. Timber gate to right. Approx. 150 M long.
