Hotel, being converted to shops, offices and public house at time of survey.
Late C16/early C17, refronted C18. Grey brick with red brick dressings; old
plain-tile complex roof; brick end stack to right, ridge stack to right of
centre. Complex facade having 3-storey central bay with 2-storey, 2-window range
to left, and 2-storeys-and-attic, 2-window range to right. Panelled carriageway
doors to flat-arched carriageway to centre. 16-pane unhorned sashes, mostly with
brick flat arches to left and right ranges. 2-light casements with segmental
brick heads to first and second floor centre. Single-light casement between
ground and first floor centre. Gabled roof to left, hipped roofs to centre and
right. Gabled dormer to right. Timber framing to rear. Interior: late C16/early
C17 painted wooden ceiling to upper storey west room of street range.
