Gatehouse of Raynham Old Hall. C16. Brick, red and black
pantiled roofs. 2 storeys with 2 bay returns. Blocked pedestrian and carriage
entrances to north both with brick drip-mould. Cut down gable with brick
string course base and now damaged flint and brick decorative field with 3
moulded brick lozenge shields, tiles set as lozenges with dividing panels
of brick set vertically. South return with brick buttresses and blocked
pedestrian arch. North return with similar blocked arch but no buttresses,
low pitched roof. At rear 2 storey cottage attached, flint and brick with
red pantiled roof steeply pitched roof, clearly incorporating fragments of
Raynham Old Hall.
