Former use unknown now flats. Late C15 onwards. Renovated in C20. (Timber frame).
Flint and brick. Mathematical tiles. Pantide and Roman
pantile roofs. 2 long ranges parallel to Muspole Street with subsequent
development to form courtyard. Muspole Street range:- 2 storeys, jettied
at first floor. 8 irregularly spaced first floor windows. No. 31 has
central panelled door with simply moulded surround. Flanking sash windows
with glazing bars. 5 sash windows to the left of No. 31. Coved jetty. C18
mathematical tiles at first floor. Sash windows at first floor with glazing
bars in recessed surrounds. One 4-light casement with traceried head behind
C20 picture window to left-side. Box cornice. Roof-line breaks between
No. 31 and the adjoining property. Duke Street:- 2 storeys, jettied at
first floor. 6 iregularly spaced first floor windows. Right-hand off-centre
carriage entry with moulded timber lintol. 3 sash windows at ground floor
with glazing bars plus one small casement. C18 mathematical tiles at first
floor to the right of the carriage arch, timber frame to left. One sash
window in mathematical tiling, one 3-light casement above entry and 2 pairs
of C20 casements with glazing bars to left-side. Box and fascia cornice.
North range parallel with Muspole Street, courtyard elevation:- 2 storeys
jettied at first floor apart from small right-hand section. 5 windows at
first floor. Late C15 ground floor wall extending into No. 2 Wrights Foundry
Yard with remains of brick arches. Central C20 partly-glazed door. One
small casement and one C20 casement at ground floor. Timber frame partly
rendered and 4 C20 casement windows at first floor. Fascia cornice. Wright's
Foundry Yard, yard elevation:- left-hand side, 2 storeys. 2 windows at
first floor, C20 doors at extreme left and right with pilasters, entablature
and flat-hood. Sash windows throughout with glazing bars and rubbed brick
segmental arches. Centre:- 3 storeys, 2-2nd floor windows. C20 door at
right-hand side with pilasters, entablature and flat hood. Sash windows
throughout with glazing bars and rubbed brick flat arches. Fascia cornice.
Right-hand side:- 2 storeys. Single bay. C20 door at right-hand side.
Mullion and transome window at ground floor. 4-light casement window at
first floor. Fascia cornice.
