SP20NW FILKINS AND BROUGHTON POGGS

1/168 Filkins Down Farmhouse

GV II
Farmhouse. Circa 1810. Coursed rubble limestone with dressed quoins and window
jambs. C20 concrete tile roof with flanking ashlar chimneys. Double depth plan.
2 storeys and attic, 2 bays. Renewed 4-pane sashes with flat arches of dressed
stone; 2 gabled eaves-line dormers with paired barred wooden casements. To
centre is a 6-panelled door with rectangular fanlight and stone hood in form of
open pediment on shaped brackets. Built as estate farmhouse for William Hervey
of Bradwell Grove, after 1802.
