Cottage. Dated 1728. Coursed ironstone rubble, some courses of brick below
eaves, corrugated iron roof over remains of thatch roof, brick end stacks.
2-unit plan. 2 storeys, 2-window range. Central plank door with wood surround,
timber lintel and C20 gabled hood flanked by 2-light casement windows with
timber lintels to ground and first floors. Datestone above door inscribed
S/RJ/1728. C20 single-storey brick extension to rear. Interior has
stop-chamfered spine beam, open fireplace with chamfered bressumer,
winder-stair, collar truss roof and stud partition between bedrooms. Attached
barn: probably C18, remodelled C19. Coursed ironstone rubble with brick eaves
course and corrugated iron roof. 2 storeys. Central door with loft door over.
