Grange House Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Early C17 remodelled and extended in C18 and C19.
Coursed squared coal measures sandstone, rendered on the east
elevation, with coped gables with moulded kneelers, ashlar gable
and ridge stacks, and a stone slated roof. Double pile plan,
the rear pile a C18 addition, the earlier pile to the east a
remodelled C17 range with a possible lobby entrance plan. East
elevation. Two storeys, two bays with glazing bar sashes, 4 x 2
panes within painted flush stone surrounds. Off-centre doorway,
almost against the stack with plain painted surround, a six
panelled door and a shallow rectangular overlight with glazing
bars. Rear pile also with sashes in flush surrounds, but also
with a full height C18 stair window to centre.
