House, latterly two shops, now one shop and flat. Dated 1629, refaced in early C19 with late C19 shop fronts. Stucco (incised to represent ashlar) probably on coursed limestone rubble, with slate roof. Basement, two storeys and attic.
Deep eaves, gabled dormer to left with two-light casement, and central lateral external C17 stack to rear with brick top stage. Four-window front; first floor glazing bar sash to left, two mid to late C19 cross windows to right, and late C19 canted bay off-centre to left; two late C19 shop fronts, that to right with three-part plate glass window, half-glazed door to left, and half-glazed door to right with twin glazing bar sashes above, and that to left with large plate glass window and half-glazed door to left; boarded passageway door to left with rectangular overlight and lintel inscribed: "DAVED MORRISTAN CR MDCIXXX".
INTERIOR: late C17 staircase between first floor and attic with three flights around narrow rectangular well, landing and winders, moulded closed string, turned balusters, moulded grip rail, and square newel posts with globe finials; first floor corner fireplaces, one with C18 moulded architrave; C17 brickwork visible in cellar.
While the front is not now very distinguished, the interior and particularly the staircase is of considerable merit.
