GV
II
Garden retaining wall with doorway and summerhouse. 1870's or 1880's
by George Devey. Coursed red sandstone rubble, snecked in parts, with
sandstone ashlar dressings, and stone coping. L-plan with circular
summerhouse in south-west corner and returning to Pitchford Hall (qv)
at north. Approximately 100 metres long and approximately 2.5 metres
high, ramped down to approximately 1 metre at east end; doorway in
west wall with chamfered reveals, depressed arch and nail-studded
boarded door with wrought iron strap hinges; short retaining wall to
pathway adjoining to west at this point. Summerhouse with low stone
