6/56 The Brades Farmhouse
- and attached wall

Farmhouse. Mid-C18 with later additions and alterations. Red brick;
machine tile roofs with raised verges. 3-unit baffle-entry type with
gabled range to rear forming T-plan; contemporary 2-storey outshut in
angle to left. 2 storeys and gable-lit attic; 3 bays. Late C19 three-
light segmental-headed mullioned and transomed casements to left and
right of central mid-C19 gabled brick porch with 4-panel door (top panels
now glazed). Central red brick stack with top rebuilt in late C19 brick;
integral end stack to rear gable. C18 wall attached to right corner:
red brick with sandstone coping, forms boundary between house and farmyard.
Interior: not inspected but said to have chamfered beams and joists
to ground- and first-floor rooms. C20 roughcast additions to right
and rear are not of special architectural interest.
