The Gate piers, gates and boundary railings, about 20 metres South East of Cliff House
GV
II
Gateway and boundary railings. Probably C18. Doulting stone and wrot iron. Diagonally set gate piers in Adam style,
base about 400 mm square; 4 corner columns with reeded panels between, with plinths and quasi-Gothick capitals, with
step and lidded and swagged finial urns, overall about 3.5 metres high. Gates match railings, which are close spaced
and set on low semi-circular coped stone walls, having waisted spikes and urn-finials to standards; quarter circle
returns into gateway. Good example, but South pier, gate and railings damaged (October 1983).
