Taken 25/112023. This is the unpowered end of the twisting walk. The yarn loops back on itself at the transverse piece of wood known as the cross. The cross is tensioned by a weighted pulley system and it moves forward as the yarn is twisted. The operator knows when to stop the twisting when it has moved forward a certain distance.
