TQ 74 NW MARDEN HUNTON ROAD (east-side)

1/91 Barn about 70 metres north- 9.6.1982 north-west of Gatehouse Farmhouse (formerly listed under Marden Road) GV II Barn. C15 or early C16. Timber framed. Front elevation clad with weatherboarding. Left gable end red brick in Flemish bond below midrail (occasional bricks drilled with ventilation holes), and exposed framing with tension braces and tarred stave and straw daub infilling above. Right gable end has tension braces trenched across outer face of midrail, with boarded staves below and plastered stave and straw daub infilling above midrail. Corrugated iron roof. 3 timber-framed bays with central midstrey. Steeply-pitched hipped roof. Central double doors. Interior: Gunstock-jowled posts. Plain crown posts, each with four head braces. Lapped collars.
