6/31 Holygate Lodge

G.V. II

Lodge, now house. Mid C19. Coursed and squared ironstone and
timber framing with bridck nogging, with ashlar dressings and
Collyweston slate roofs. Chamfered plinth, first floor band,
jettied first floor, decorated bargeboards, grouped lateral stack
with octagonal coped stalks. 2 storeys, 3 bays. South front has
a central gabled porch with Tudor arched doorway and a small
chamfered casement in each side, flanked by single 3 light
mullioned casements with flat hoods. Jettied north gable has a 3
light mullioned casement and above, a hipped timber mullioned
oriel window. West side has to left a cross mullioned casement
and to right, gabled wing with a canted bay window with cross
mullioned casements. Above, a 3 light cross mullioned casement
with hood mould. East side has to left, gabled wing with a 2
light mullioned casement on each floor, with hood moulds, and to
right, a single casement. This building was erected as a lodge
to the south east entrance to Stapleford Park.
