St.Peter and St. Paul

GV II

Chest tomb; Richard Hook, died 1795; stone. Flat lid with
moulded edge slightly indented at ends of long face. Sides
fielded panel for inscription, ends elongated rectangular
balusters, fluted 'capitals', moulded base. West baluster has
raised ring on stem: east may originally have had the same, but
dressed off for added inscription. Original inscription mixed
upper and lower case, some italic lettering and long s's. Later
inscriptions.
