G.V. II*

House, gate and railings. c.1720 with early C19 alterations;
orange brick, concrete tiled roof. The 5 bay front was
originally of 2 storeys with garret and raised to 3 full storeys
in C19. The central 6 panelled door has an overlight and a
plain wooden surround of pilasters supporting a narrow frieze and
hood. It is flanked by pairs of glazing bar sashes. To the 1st
floor are 5 glazing bar sashes and to the 2nd floor 5 smaller
glazing bar sashes. All the windows have segmental brick heads.
Interior; the dog leg stair has turned and knopped balusters and
a carved string. The ground floor front room on the right is
panelled full height and has a dentillated cornice, a panelled
beam and 2 alcoves with semi circular heads and panelled reveals.
The 1st and 2nd floors have fully panelled C18 cupboards, one
with L and H hinges. The 1st floor bedrooms have small grates
fitted with Delft tiles. The C19 railings and gate have atop
rail and decorative pointed finials. The railings sit on a stone
plinth.
