MAIN STREET (Lockington),
Daleacre Farmhouse


House. Dated 1786 on brick in left gable end. Red brick on stone base with
dentil eaves, tiled roof, and brick chimneys to left and between left bays.
Large imposing block of three storeys and cellar and three bays. Ground and first
floors have tripartite sash windows with cambered heads; second floor has
3-light horizontal sliding sashes. Between right bays is a 6-panelled door with
rectangular fanlight, flat wooden hood on scroll brackets, and blind window
panels above. To left is a lower 1 1/2 storey kitchen wing, set back, with flush-
panelled door and wooden casements. This wing continues as a range of out-
buildings which are not of special architectural interest. Right gable end of
main block is blind except for 2-light cellar window with chamfered stone
surround and mullion. To rear are a central stair projection with catslide
roof, and two C19 gabled extensions.
