Late C18 house with a stuccoed centre of 2 storeys and 5 windows and 2 bowed
wings of yellow brick of higher elevation and 3 windows each. Parapet.
Slate roof. Glazing bars intact. Colonnaded verandah along the ground
floor of the centre portion. Modern additions behind. George Grote, the
historian, was born here on the 17 November 1794.
